Below are photos from the Israel Independence day reception last week with Consul General Shai Bazak. It was a lovely evening and we were so pleased hear how much everyone enjoyed being here at Gateways.

The Miranda Suite, (formerly the Arthur Fiedler Suite) has gone through some lovely transformations to make a grand statement. With it’s majestic furniture and deep colors, not to mention gas fireplace, the bedroom takes comfort to a whole new level. Adjoining the bedroom and private bath is a spacious sitting room with sunlight streaming in. Come and enjoy a visit with us in this most popular suite!
As most of you now know, we have renamed our rooms after Shakespearean characters — Miranda is from The Tempest, one of William Shakespeare’s last comedies.

We just hosted our first elopement. Sandy and Tanya flew in from Michigan. We all had a blast! I think we will be seeing them again….Congratulations you two. May every couple we have the honor of hosting be as much in love with each other as you are.
We love what we do — especially being able to meet lovely people from all over the world. And then there are moments like this, which make our job even more special — these pretty flowers were a thank you from guests Patricia and Drew who recently stayed with us. What a lovely thank you! But, Patricia and Drew, our response can only be, “No, thank you!!”. Without wonderful guests like you, we wouldn’t be able to run this Inn that we love. Thank you to all of our guests and new acquaintances!
Mark your calendars — we are almost there — this Thursday is the official opening of our restaurant and new Piano Bar! We can hardly wait! In the next few days we will be sharing our new menus and plenty of pictures. Below is Michele, our in-house chef Cain, and renowned guest chef Mark Bergasser preparing the house specialties!
What a weekend! We had some very special guests staying with us, as you can see below. We can’t wait for them to come back and visit us again!
Tony award winner for her role in Gypsy (though I loved her as Maria opposite Richard chamberlain in the Sound of Music), the extremely talented singer and actress (Law and Order SVU; The Playboy Club among others) Laura Benanti spent the night with us, stopping over while driving from Quebec back to NYC with her actor husband Steven Pasquale (Up all Night; Rescue Me).
Emmy nominated documentary filmmaker, producer and writer Darren Garnick [Cultureschlock; TackyTouristPhotos.com] and his lovely wife Stacy spent the weekend schmoozing with us. Can’t wait to see what he writes about us, and about Alta where we had dinner last night.
Just another small reason why the Gateways Inn feels like your home away from home. We know that coffee first thing in the morning is the best way to start your day. So, no more trekking down to the lobby to pour your first cup — we now have Keurig coffee machines in all of our guest rooms! Enjoy that fresh cup of deliciousness and feel at home.
