Another recipe for you: Gateways Granola

We’re happy to share another recipe with you — another Gateways Inn favorite!
Gateways Granola

Preheat oven to 325 degrees

In a large bowl toss together and mix well:
5 cups rolled oats
1 cup wheat germ
1 cup sliced almonds
1 cup broken walnuts
1 cup broken pecans
1 cup shredded unsweetened coconut
1 cup unsalted sunflower seeds
2 Tbs ground cinnamon

Heat together in a medium saucepan stirring constantly to warm through and combine:

1 cup canola oil
1 cup local honey
¾ cup molasses
3 TBS pure vanilla extract

Pour over the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly until well coated.  Spread evenly on a lined and lightly greased rimmed baking sheet.  Bake for 30-40 minutes stirring and turning over every 10 minutes to ensure even browning being careful not to burn.  Remove from the oven when beginning to brown but still moist and add:

1 cup chopped pitted dates
1 cup raisins
1 cup dried cranberries

Store in airtight container when completely cooled.
