In 1908, 1.5 acres of land was given to the town of Lenox by the Servin family. It was planted with different varieties of lilacs from the gardens of nearby private estates. Although the park went virtually unattended for many years, it was restored in 1991 by the Lenox Garden Club and now features hundreds of named lilacs, ten Canadian hemlocks, small shrubs, 1,500 daylilies, 19 benches, and gazebos. Today, the town works to maintain and preserve Lilac Park in order to keep it as quiet and tranquil as possible for area residents and visitors alike.

  1. Annual Craft Fair

This summer, the 30th annual Church on the Hill Fine Arts and Handmade Crafts Fair will be held in Lilac Park on July 29th and 30th, 2017. This juried craft fair features over 70 booths of high-quality, handmade arts and crafts from local and regional artisans. It’s the perfect place to get all of your holiday shopping done early. You’ll find all kinds of treasures including candles, carvings, furniture, jewelry, ornaments, and clothing. Admission is free, so you can stock up on beautiful one-of-a-kind gifts for the whole family.

Each year, Berkshire music lovers can attend a summer concert series at Lilac Park! The schedule includes free performances every Wednesday evening in July and August.
