Join us for a memorable culinary experience!

Gateways Inn has long enjoyed a leading reputation as a culinary destination in the Berkshires food and beverage scene. Of its several owners over the years as an inn and a restaurant, most notable were Lillian and Gerhardt Schmid. At the time, Schmid held the distinction as the only chef in the United States to hold a Michelin star – a celebrity chef before the term was invented! During this time, Gateways served as the site for Norman Rockwell’s standing Thursday lunch club, the Marching and Chowder Society. Arthur Fiedler, John Williams, and Paul Newman were also frequent guests of the restaurant.

Since 2021, the restaurant’s concept has been revamped under the leadership of Executive Chef, Jeremy Berlin. Joining us after a 4-year run as Executive Chef at Blantyre, Chef Berlin became well-acquainted with the fine dining scene here in the Berkshires. Prior to his arrival in the Berkshires, Jeremy spent time building a diverse breadth of experience in a range of culinary enterprises to include several years with Gordon Ramsey, LA’s Church & State Bistro, and NYC’s Fleur De Sel and Le Bernardin to name a few. Reservations are encouraged and our menus change seasonally.
