Located high on a Berkshire plateau, Canterbury Farms offers outdoor fun for the whole family to enjoy! With 22 kilometers of groomed trails, cross-country skiers will embark on an adventure of a lifetime through snowy meadows and forests. If you’re new to skiing, the on-site instructors will teach you the skills and techniques that will best help you enjoy your journey. 1. Hilltop Orchards Cross Country Skiing

For a more unique cross-country skiing in the Berkshires experience, we highly recommend a visit to Hilltop Orchards. The Nordic skiing adventure leads you through the apple orchards along trails designed by winter Olympian, John Morton. The trails are created for intermediate to expert skiers, so visitors who have tried cross-country skiing before will enjoy the most out of this experience. However, beginners are welcome to partake in the on-site lessons offered professional skier, Russ Myer. After exploring the trails, return to the Hilltop Orchards’ Barrel Room to discuss your experience with some hot chocolate in front of the fireplace.

  1. Notchview

Renowned for nordic skiing, Notchview offers more than 3,000 acres of rolling terrain for idyllic winter sports activities! This area is part of the Hoosac Range, one of the highest points in the Berkshires. This means that it enjoys high volumes of snowfall throughout the winter. 17 kilometers of trails are regularly kept for cross-country skiers, but those looking for a bit more adventure are welcome to explore off-road areas through the backcountry. As you ski, stay on the lookout for local wildlife like deer, owls, woodpeckers, and chickadees.
